Find healing through connection

We exist in relationship. We are in relationship with the natural world, with our bodies, with the food we eat, with one another, with various facets of ourselves. We are always in relationship with some aspect of life. I believe healing comes through recognizing the interconnectedness of all things. Relationship is therefore the lens through which I conceptualize psychotherapy.

Another aspect of interconnectedness that characterizes my work is the relationship between the unconscious (what is unseen) and the conscious (what is seen). What motivates us is very often unseen and requires deeper examination to understand so we can orient towards more of what we want. Openness and curiosity towards these unknown parts of ourselves paves the way for fuller access to who we really are and a richer relationship to the world around us. It’s like having access to the full range of an instrument that enables agility, creativity, and self-expression. Part of what makes this kind of life possible is cultivating a partnership between our unconscious and conscious selves.

I have learned that developing this kind of self-knowledge is a prerequisite for effective action in the world. We live in a time of heightened tensions, polarity of perspectives, and questions that have no easy answers. Effectively engaging with those questions requires the skill to utilize our inner life. In turn, this inner power generates the ingenuity and capacity to address local and global problems. Effective impact could come in many forms: parenting children well, cultivating a thriving partnership, creating a business that serves the community, working towards racial justice, or working to address the climate crisis. But it all starts with self-inquiry because change in the outer world requires an inner shift in consciousness.

I work with people who desire knowing themselves better in this way and who want to create a fuller, more vibrant life. I work with people who want to meaningfully impact the world around them through their leadership. I work with individuals, couples, and groups, and I also provide consultation for professionals. If you’re interested in working with me, I invite you to learn more about the way I work.

Self-inquiry leads to inner power, which is a prerequisite for effective action in the world.

Integrating and partnering with all the various aspects of you creates space to feel balanced, whole, and resilient in approaching life’s many and interesting challenges. From this perspective, life can feel adventurous and free, even when it’s inevitably difficult at times.

I bring my intuition and creativity to sessions, and invite you to bring all the varied aspects of yourself too. In partnership together, it’s possible to harness the wisdom of your emotional life.

It’s possible to be in partnership with the different parts of your inner and outer world:

  • your conscious mind (anything in your current awareness)

  • your unconscious mind (what you are unaware of but exerts influence over you)

  • your body

  • your family lineage or ancestors

  • the natural world

  • your community

  • your work
